QOV Greater Wichita Area officially started in February 2006 with only 4 members. After the semi-annual PQG show in June of 2006, the membership exploded.

"Quilts of Valor," a 73-minute documentary starring national quilters Eleanor Burns, Alex Anderson, and Mark Lipinski and hosted by Marianne Fons, has just been made available to all public television stations nationwide by its producer, Iowa Public Television.

Longarm Volunteers

We believe our QOVF model of making Quilts of Valor is a win-win for the topper, longarmer and recipients. Many of our toppers are relatively new to the world of machine quilting and think they can do as well on their domestic machines.  But, most can only stitch-in-the-ditch or do a large meander.

Our longarmers take a nice top and transform it into a Cinderella-at-the-ball quilt.  As far as the longarmer goes, the advantage of volunteering is that you can quilt tops from all over the nation.  That is, you get great exposure and potentially new customers.  Contact us if you would like to volunteer!

Why are we so passionate about our mission?

Because no matter where we stand politically, we accept our warriors and veterans with open arms and open hearts. One only has to talk to the veterans of previous wars and conflicts to get a glimpse that the profound effects of war never really leave.

OUR MISSION is to cover ALL combat service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor (QOV)

"I cannot adequately express in words how gratefully our Mighty Warriors and their families received your gift of kindness as they undergo such difficult times..."
